In Ceylon, in 500 AD, the weaver created a magical gift after Buddha visited his town and spoke with him. The weaver’s orders from the holy man were simple; make one hundred rugs, a gift for someone of the weaver’s choosing, and take your dog for protection, as you work. The weaver completes his task and when he presents the rugs to one of the royal brothers it brings three families together today, still embattled over the Weaver’s Gift.
